If you are using Internet Explorer click Run. If prompted confirm any User Account Control and security warnings. In IE9 or above to do this you may need to click Actions then Run anyway.

Chrome If you are using Google Chrome click on the downloaded file to the bottom left. If prompted confirm any User Account Control and security warnings.

FirefoxIf you are using Firefox click Save and then click the green download arrow and click on the installer file to run it. If prompted confirm any User Account Control and security warnings.

2. Go through the installer setup wizard, accept the license agreement, keep the default options and VERY IMPORTANTLY: You must click Install if you are prompted about installing additional drivers.

When the installer has completed click Finish.

3. Once you have completed installer setup wizard you should now see a new icon on your desktop for WatchUKTVAbroad as below:

Double click on the icon to run the software for the first time.  The software should animate from Connecting to Connected.  If you see a Networks screen pop up asking you if you would like to find PC’s, devices and content on this network click Yes.

4. Just remember every time you want to watch UK TV from now on you must connect to the service via the software first (as you are now) and when you are finished just remember to Disconnect so your connection goes back to normal. To do this bring up the connection status window again double click the WatchUKTVAbroad desktop icon (if the status window is not already showing that is) Then click Disconnect.

5. Now you know how to Connect and Disconnect as and when you need it all you need to do now is to open up the UK TV player of your choice in your web browser and start watching. Enjoy!

Alternative PPTP Connection

1. In Desktop mode press the Windows and R keys together to bring up the Run window.

2. In the Open field enter rasphone and click OK.

3. Click OK to add a new entry or if you already have entries you will not see this option, click New instead.

4. In the next window click Workplace network.

5. In the Internet address field type: vpn.watchuktvabroad.net.

In the Destination name field type: WatchUKTVAbroad PPTP

Make sure there is a tick in the box that says Remember my credentials and then click Create.

6. Click Properties.

7. At the top of the Properties window select Security then change the Type of VPN to Point to Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP) by selecting it from the drop down list. Change Data encryption to Optional encryption (connect even if no encryption) again by selecting that option from the drop down list. Then click OK.

8. Click Connect…

9. Enter your VPN Username and VPN Password (PLEASE NOTE: These details are not the same as your My Account login details.  Your VPN Username and VPN password can be found in your welcome email or the Subscriptions page within your My Account area) then tick the option to Save this username and password for the following users and select Me only. Then click Connect…

10. Just remember every time you want to watch UK TV you must connect to the VPN first (as you are now) and when you are finished just remember to Disconnect so your connection goes back to normal. Please take note of how to do this below and then see the next step.

To Disconnect in future: Look for the monitor icon in your task bar (bottom right of Windows by the clock as in the screen shot below). Click on this monitor icon and you will see the Networks options appear from the right hand side. Locate the WatchUKTVAbroad PPTP connection, click on it and select Disconnect.

To Reconnect in future: Look for the Wi-Fi icon in your task bar (bottom right of Windows by the clock as in the screen shot below). Click on this Wi-Fi icon and you will see the Networks options appear from the right hand side. Locate the WatchUKTVAbroad PPTP connection, click on it and select Connect.

11. Now you know how to Connect and Disconnect as and when you need it all you need to do now is to open up the UK TV player of your choice in your web browser and start watching. Enjoy!

Alternative L2TP Connection

1. In Desktop mode press the Windows and R keys together to bring up the Run window.

5. In the Internet address field type: vpn.watchuktvabroad.net.

In the Destination name field type: WatchUKTVAbroad L2TP

7. At the top of the Properties window select Security then change the Type of VPN to Layer 2 Tunnelling Protocol with IPsec (L2TP/IPsec) by selecting it from the drop down list. Then click on Advanced settings.

8. Select the option to Use pre-shared key for authentication and in the Key field enter: calp

Then click OK.

9.
