Kindle Fire HD & HDX

Please note: You need a 2nd generation Kindle Fire HD or the new Kindle Fire HDX to be able to setup the service.  Earlier models do not not include the necessary in built VPN options.  UPDATE: Amazon has also removed the option to setup VPN directly on Kindle Fire devices from OS5 onwards.

1. Swipe down from the top of the screen to show Quick Settings, and then tap Wireless.

2. Tap VPN & then tap Add a New VPN Profile.

3. Enter the VPN details exactly as below:

Name: WatchUKTVAbroad PPTP
Type: PPTP
Server address: vpn.watchuktvabroad.net
PPP encryption (MPPE): Unchecked   *THIS IS IMPORTANT* 

Tap on Save to save the connection.

4. You should now see the WatchUKTVAbroad PPTP connection now appears on the VPN screen.  Tap it to connect.

5. Enter your VPN username and VPN password, Check the ‘Save account information’ checkbox and then Connect.

(PLEASE NOTE: Your VPN username and password are not the same as your My Account login details.  Your VPN Username and VPN password can be found in your welcome email or the Subscriptions page within your My Account area)

Once connected you will see a key logo in the top left hand corner. Once you see that you can then either open up the UK TV player of your choice in your web browser or if you already have the TV apps simply load up the TV app of your choice and start watching.

6. After you finish watching to disconnect swipe down the notification bar and tap on the active VPN connection then tap Disconnect.  Your internet connection then goes back to normal.

 

Problems connecting? – Try the alternative connection method below:

Alternative L2TP Connection

1. Swipe down from the top of the screen to show Quick Settings, and then tap Wireless.

2. Tap VPN & then tap Add a New VPN Profile.

3. Enter the VPN details exactly as below:

Name: WatchUKTVAbroad L2TP
Type: L2TP/IPSec PSK
Server address: vpn.watchuktvabroad.net
L2TP secret: leave blank
IPSec identifier: leave blank
IPSec pre-shared key: calp

Tap on Save to save the connection.

4. You should now see the WatchUKTVAbroad L2TP connection now appears on the VPN screen.  Tap it to connect.

5. Enter your VPN username and VPN password, Check the ‘Save account information’ checkbox and then Connect.
